MANUCHAR OKROSTSVARIDZE

Manuchar Okrostsvaridze (მანუჩარ ოქროსცვარიძე - 1974) was born in Tbilisi, Georgia. Graduated from Tbilisi State Academy of Arts in 1998 (MFA). Manuchar Okrostsvaridze is a contemporary multimedia visual artist, he lives and works in Tbilisi, Georgia. In the early years of his career, at the same time with painting, he studied the techniques and history of graphics, sculpture, traditional icon painting and enamel. Manuchar Okrostsvaridze’s field of activity includes painting, drawing, sculpture, installation and mixed media. From the beginning of 2000s his art has been influenced by conceptualism and post-minimalism. His works vary from minimalist drawings to site-specific installations and public sculptures. Manuchar Okrostsvaridze was cofounder and creator of the art journal – “Impressions” (2008-2009). He has been participating in solo and group exhibitions in Georgia as well as abroad since 1996. Activities over the past decade include independent projects as well as co-operations with the art galleries and independent curators.
